Thanks, Robin! Here's why I would like to have the total salary for that
group: I am interested in analyzing how well the
various retirement communities (especially mine) are allocating salary
increases to the various salary groups. The 3 natural levels are: (1)the
whose salaries are listed; (2) the middle level managers with salaries over
$100,000 but not a top employee; and (3) the rank and file employees, with
salaries under $100,000. The ratios of interest to me are: (1) the
relative sizes of the % salary increases for the 3 groups each year; and
the relative sizes of the average salary in the 3 groups each year. Right
now, without knowing the total salary for the middle managers, I can only
calculate the Maximum average salary for the Rank and File and the Minimum
average salary of the Upper Tier (TOP + Middle managers). OK for me, but
It's not easy to use such terms in a discussion directed at forcing
My analysis to this point suggests that at my retirement community (Masonic
Village in Elizabethtown, PA) the people at the top are gradually taking a
bigger and bigger share of the money than they are giving to the rank and
file. This concerns me greatly, but I need to have a very conclusive
argument before I dare to go public.
Thanks again for your help!
