The IRS has changed my status from a private 501c3 to a public charity. This happened March 23rd and your site has not been updated. Can I send you a copy of the determination letter?
Good Morning Amy,
Thank you for contacting GuideStar.
GuideStar receives all its information on 501c nonprofit organization's directly from the IRS on a monthly basis excluding January. We will receive our next update around the 2nd-3rd week of May. Because this information comes from the IRS, we are unable to change or alter the information.
You may want to contact the IRS to find out when your organization information will change from a Private Foundation to a Public Charity on the IRS Business Master File. You may contact the Nonprofit Division of the IRS for more information at: (877) 829-5500 (toll-free number). The IRS call center is open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Once the IRS updates this on the Business Master File, we will receive that update from the IRS.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks for the quick reply Robin – They did have to adjust something in their system manually. I will look again in a few weeks.
You are very welcome Ann. I will check the status of your organization after we receive our next update from the IRS and will follow up to let you know if it has been updated.
Have a good day!
Good Morning Ann,
I'm following up to let you know that we received our May update from the IRS yesterday and your organization is now appearing as a Public Charity on GuideStar.
Please let me know if you need any other assistance.
Yeah! Thank you so much for the update!!
Sorry – I should have asked. How long does it normally take to report to Amazon?
GuideStar send updates to AmazonSmile on a monthly basis, usually around the 22nd of each month. Once received by AmazonSmile, they update their information accordingly. Please allow a week or two before your organization appears on their site.
