As a hobby, my wife makes  small items to donate to VA hospitals, retirement Homes, churches and also regular hospitals on a regular basis, mainly afghans for persons in wheel chairs.  Our problem is that the number of items often exceed the IRS limits and do require an appraisal.

We are looking for a licensed appraiser who could validate the items to submit along with the receipts we get from the VA, etc.  We need someone who would can help us with our charitable contributions borne out of a hobby, this is not a big money making business.  Last year she made 130 that we donated to the VA hospital in Coatesville, PA along with several small quantities to retirement homes and churches.   So far since January, she has made about 60 and adds every day.  We are not trying to get rich but be able to recover the cost of the yarn and get a fair appraisal so that we can turn it in with our tax return.  If you can’t help, we’d really appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you for a prompt reply,
