Greetings, and thank you GuideStar for your continued support. I wanted to ask 2 questions:

1. My organization was given 501(c)(3) tax exempt status effective November 23, 2016. I did not file a 990 for that year. Should I? (I use calendar year 1 Jan - 31 Dec)

Both years, 2016 (if applicable) and 2017 were not or did not make more than 50K... In fact, 2016 didn't really receive any money, I don't think. As for 2017, I received no grants, but between the small Facebook, Amazon Smile, Ebay, PayPal, cash/checks donations, I don't even think we had 5K... Based on IRS info, I am eligible to file 990N, rather than 990EZ.

2. Does GuideStar have a preference to have on file a 990EZ rather than a 990N. Or is it completely okay for me to go ahead and do a 990N without feeling I'm hiding something, since the 990N is ONLY 8 questions long?
