Greetings,   I read through your information regarding fundraisers on FB.  I wanted to confirm some information I received through Facebook today.  I ran a fundraiser for my non profit "Grain of Wheat - Dying To Live

I read through your information regarding fundraisers on FB.  I wanted to confirm some information I received through Facebook today.  I ran a fundraiser for my non profit "Grain of Wheat - Dying To Live" on #givingtueday and our non profit raised funds.  I have contacted Network for Good "who is sending the funds strictly for the amount that was donated.  Please see FB response for the "matching amount" for #givingtuesday and confirm whether this is accurate or not.  Will Grain of Wheat - Dying To Live be receiving matching funds from GuidStar?  That is ultimately my question.

Hi Belinda,

 

Thanks for contacting Facebook about donations. I apologize for my late reply and any confusion you are experiencing.

 

I can confirm that Facebook recognizes you as a nonprofit, and that your page Grain of Wheat Dying To Live appears online as a nonprofit page. Our records just indicate that your charity wasn't specially registered to accept donations directly through Facebook.

 

All this means is that Facebook cannot deposit the donations directly to your bank, so instead all the donations your nonprofit currently receives are still distributed through the Network for Good‘s donor advised fund.

 

I can confirm that Grain of Wheat Dying To Live will receive the funds, Network for Good will just be helping with the distributing process.

 

U.S.-based nonprofits connected to Facebook Payments are mailed a check from the Network for Good within 75 days to the address listed in GuideStar.

 

I can also confirm that matching on Giving Tuesday was done by Facebook, but the funds will be sent to you by GuideStar.
