Hi there -- our organization is listed on Guidestar; what steps do we need to take to get rated?
Thank you very much!
Welcome to the GuideStar Community.
Please click on the following link to learn more about updating your organization's GuideStar profile and how to achieve Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels: Update Your GuideStar Nonprofit Profile
If you have not already done so, you will need to request permission to manage your organization's profile, click on this link for instructions on how to request permission: Claim/Request Permission to Update your Organization's Profile
Once your request has been approved, we recommend you start with updating the Bronze level. Check out our Learn How To section of the Community that has documents with instructions to assist you with updating your organization's profile.
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks very much for your reply! Is there a fee? And are the ratings then based on how much information we provide, versus an analysis by Guidestar?
There is no fee to have your organization listed on GuideStar or to update your profile. GuideStar has never used a rating or ranking system to judge nonprofits or the auditing groups they employ. GuideStar's goal as a neutral third party is to help donors make their own judgments based on the public information provided on the Web site. You can, however, earn a GuideStar Level of Transparency Seal for your organization’s GuideStar nonprofit Profile pages. This seal indicates that the nonprofit has updated their nonprofit Profile to a certain level, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum; to show your organization's commitment to transparency and communicate directly with your stakeholders through GuideStar.
Let me know if I can be of any other assistance.
