Access Silver Section

  1. Sign in to guidestar.org or register
  2. Click Update Nonprofit Profile link at the top of the home page
  3. Choose Edit Form under Manage 
  4. Choose Silver on the left-side of the page
  5. Select a category from the dropdown list to update that section
  6. Fill out data fields with a red star next to them to complete the Silver section

 

Make sure to Save your changes. Choose Publish changes when you want your updates to appear on GuideStar.

 

Updates will appear on GuideStar 20-30 minutes after publishing.

 

Updates made to your Nonprofit Profile do not automatically sync with partner sites like Facebook, AmazonSmile, and Network for Good. GuideStar sends updated information on Nonprofit Profiles to our partners each month. If you recently made updates to your Profile, it may take up to a month to appear on partner sites.

Silver Fields

The Silver Seal of Transparency focuses on financial data. To earn the Silver Seal, you must also complete the Bronze Seal requirements.

There are two ways to earn a Silver Seal - upload an audited financial statement or manually fill in Fiscal Year, Revenue Expenses, Expenses, and Assets & Liabilities.

  • Financial Documents - Upload your latest audited financial statement.
  • Fiscal Year - What is the date range for the fiscal year covered in this section?
  • Revenue - What is your organization's revenue?
  • Expenses - What are your organization's expenses?
  • Assets & Liabilities - What are your organization's assets and liabilities?

How to Access the Silver Seal Logo and Promotional Toolkit

  1. Sign in to guidestar.org or register
  2. Click Update Nonprofit Profile link at the top of the home page
  3. Choose Benefits under Manage 
  4. Choose Outreach Toolkit
  5. Choose Get the Tool Kit

Save & Publish

Save your work at any time before publishing. It will be stored for you to edit at a later time but will not appear on GuideStar.org.

 

To publish your changes to GuideStar’s website, you must click Publish Changes Now button located at the bottom of each page. This will take you to the Confirm & Publish page where you will be asked to agree to our Terms of Use.
