In early 2017, we will be rolling out changes to the GuideStar Profile Standard (GSPS) and we want to hear from you before doing so.

 

What's the GuideStar Profile Standard?

The GuideStar Profile Standard (GSPS) is a best practice guide for collecting and sharing information about nonprofit organizations. It’s developed in partnership with nonprofits, funders, and other sector experts. We at GuideStar use it to determine what is needed to achieve a Seal of Transparency.

GuideStar Profile Standard: 2016 to 2017 Changes under Consideration

Guiding Principles for Developing the 2017 GSPS:

  • Continue to simplify & streamline the input and display of Profile information
  • Improve data quality and usability
    • Focus on foundational information (captured in Bronze) and Programs & Results
    • Ensure nonprofit information is accessible on GuideStar.org and elsewhere
  • Align with and promote external standards and common requirements where possible
  • Vet changes and design/test solutions with stakeholders
